(Doctorate in Education) program at the University of Toronto.  Her research included assessing, using both standardized and self reporting tools, the mental health of unemployed adults returning to educational programs at the community college level in Northern Ontario.  This included four First Nations and two Metis Communities.

Linda has been an administrator, faculty and counselor for a variety of community colleges and universities, including, teaching in the Bachelor of Social Work for Laurentian University and the Bachelor of Adult Education for Brock University, as well as a full time counselor for Georgian College (Barrie) and a full time faculty at Cambrian College (Sudbury) and a part time Professor at Canadore College (North Bay).   She was the Campus Manager for Georgian College for over 12 years and developed a number of community based education/training programs.  In the last ten years Linda has worked as a therapist in Mental Health both as  Crisis/Intake/ Psychotherapist and designed the Distict of Nipissing's Eating Disorder program. Currently Linda is the Coordinator of Clinical Standards and Practices, Addictions and Mental Health Care Centre, North Bay General Hospital.  She aquired this experience while concurrently running her Private Practice (Peoplematter), for the last sixteen years.  She specialized in Post-partum Mood Disorder; program design and delivery, treatment models,  community consultation, group and individual therapy.

Linda is currently consulting with the Timiskaming Health Unit, Community Counselling Centre, Nipissing and Muskoka Parry Sound Community Mental Health Service in the design and implementation of their Postpartum Mood Disorder Programs.

Linda has over thirty one years experience providing assessment, family therapy and counselling to clients and their families.  This includes providing care in the community, involving families, primary health care agencies and other care-givers.  She has developed the expertise in planning and providing direct care for groups and individuals with Complex Trauma,  Postpartum Mood Disorder and  Eating Disorders.  She developed a treatment model for women who have a  history of childhood sexual abuse entitled “Power over Abuse”.  100% of these women had eating disorders.

Linda has also developed and implemented a comprehensive treatment program model (based on  Best Practices) for women suffering from Postpartum Mood Disorder. This program design includes a "three team" approach that has proven to be very successful in the delivery of treatment in the reducation of symptons of this mental illness.  Linda's program design has been published in "Creating Circles of Support" (A manual for service providers supporting women's mental health in pregnancy and postpartum) Published by Best Start 2010.  This program design was delivered in the District of Muskoka, Parry Sound District, District of Timiskaming, and is currently being explored in the District of Nipissing.
